Witness Fellow Shelene Huey-Booker Receives Funding From Silicon Valley Community Foundation

Founded by Witness Fellow Shelene Huey-Booker, the Youth Utilizing Power and Praise Organization (YUPP) is helping more local youth in East San José and Santa Clara get involved in performing arts, sports, and other positive activities like outreaches and leadership development. The YUPP received an additional $10,000 from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

Shelene Huey-Booker and her partner Theophilus Booker have dedicated their lives to reaching youth and adolescents suffering from loneliness, identity struggles, and finding a sense of belonging. As a result, the YUPP young people find their place in arts, sports, and other positive endeavors.
