A Letter from our Founder, Jemar Tisby
I am writing to you personally because I believe we are in the midst of the modern-day Civil Rights movement. There is an urgency to 2020 that our country has not experienced since the 1960’s.
We need Christian leaders who are ready to heed the call of God and lead our nation toward Christ-centered justice for all people...
We know the next generation of Civil Rights leaders are out there, but due to the racial wealth gap and philanthropic redlining that man or woman has not received the training and funding necessary to help them pursue their vision for change.
We need to find, train, and fund these leaders so that they have the tools and resources required to catalyze their endeavors. What's more, we want to do all this while remaining Black-serving and Christ-centered.
We need you to join us in this movement by investing in the next generation of Black Christian leaders. The Witness Inc. wants to provide the education and funding to help the next Marian Wright Edelman or Andrew Young pursue their God-given vision.
Every movement needs someone to bear witness. As Christians we're called to bear witness to Christ, the Civil Rights movement had witnesses to justice in their day. We need the next generation of Black Christian leaders who will bear witness to God's Kingdom-building work today.
So, the question now is...Will you be a witness?
